Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated 1.44 billion in 2000
The Gates foundation outspent federal government on charity last year newspaper reports.  On a  personal note, TECHdivas knows of at least one school teacher who filled out the simple grant request and received more than $9000 for her classroom from the foundation.  Info on the Gates foundation is in our TECHgroups area.
